Fans of Emmerdale were not happy with Dr Todd leaving the village in the latest episode.
As she cruelly lied about the shocking sexual assault she inflicted on Charity Dingle, she had the grim audacity to brand Charity a liar who “needed help”. Charity was broken, having just withdrawn her police statement, fearing there was not enough evidence to get justice.
It follows her going to the police to bravely report the sexual assault she had been subjected. But after being questioned, Todd denied everything and Charity felt there was no point pursuing the allegations, feeling let down by the police.
As Todd drove away from the village with an exit teased, Charity heard her on the phone to someone at the police station letting her know the allegations had been dropped. She smirked at Charity as she told the caller that Charity needed help, implying it had all been lies.

As Todd then left the village, Charity suffered in silence. Viewers were furious, fearing that this was it for Todd after recent reports that she was leaving the show.
While many viewers were glad to see the back of her, others were devastated that if this was a final exit, Charity would not get justice. Slamming the exit, fans took to social media to call the twist out.
It is important to note that the soap has not confirmed this is the last we will see of Todd. While she’s not mentioned in upcoming episodes, for now, and an exit has been revealed, there is still a chance we will see more from this storyline.
Taking to social media one fan said: “There’s no way she can be seen on emmerdale getting away with rape watch this space they will get her.” Another agreed: “I don’t think so I think something will happen.”

Others feared the worst though, with one writing: “It’s so frustrating all these storylines how they get away with it. Couldn’t they just show her getting arrested and there being evidence or someone else finding out.”
A second fan agreed: “I really thought when she went to the police justice was going to be done but obviously not.” A third viewer said: “Sends out a terrible message yet again.”
The previous episode saw Charity stunned in the fallout to her horrific assault by Todd. She made the brave decision to report her crime to the police. Undergoing a medical examination and sharing details of what happened to her, a tearful Charity confirmed Todd was behind the crime.
The detective told Charity she was safe, and that she believed her. After leaving the police station, Charity knew it was only a matter of time before the police would arrest and question Dr Todd over her allegations.
