Katsina State Police Command has announced the deployment of personnel and operational assets across the state for the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Sallah period.

In a statement issued on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Police Command, through its Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the Command said the deployment is aimed at strengthening security before, during and after the festivities.

According to the statement, the security arrangement covers Eid prayer grounds, recreational centres, motor parks, major roads and other public spaces across the state.

It explained that the deployment includes conventional police officers, tactical units, traffic personnel and undercover operatives working in collaboration with sister security agencies to maintain law and order.

The Command said the operation will focus on crowd control at prayer grounds, traffic management to prevent congestion, intelligence gathering, surveillance, and enforcement of laws against illegal fireworks, reckless driving and other public disturbances.

Residents were urged to cooperate with security personnel, obey lawful instructions, and promptly report suspicious persons or activities through designated emergency lines.

The Command also advised worshippers and residents to avoid carrying weapons or objects that could cause panic in public spaces, and to celebrate responsibly in line with the spirit of the season.

The Commissioner of Police, Ali Umar Fage, felicitated with Muslim faithful and assured residents of adequate security throughout the celebration and beyond.
