- Nearly 100 people have fallen ill and 26 have been hospitalized in the latest salmonella outbreak, although no deaths have been reported to date.
- The affected eggs were distributed across several states including Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana under brand names such as Kroger, Simple Truth, Brookshire’s, Cal-Maine Sunups, and Country Morning.
- Health authorities strongly advise consumers who have purchased the recalled eggs to discard them immediately or return them to stores for a full refund. They will have sell-by or best-by dates between July 20, 2026 and August 17, 2026.
- The egg recall comes alongside a major US cyclosporiasis outbreak linked to contaminated lettuce, though Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. claims that the health crises remain under control.
