Edo gov names ecological funding commission chairman

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has approved the nomination of Terry Igiebor as Chairman of the Edo State Ecological Funding and Management Commission.
The Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, in a statement on Monday, said the move is aimed at strengthening environmental management and grassroots development across the state.
Igiebor, described as a distinguished businessman and grassroots politician, is widely recognised for his commitment to community development and the empowerment of people at the grassroots level.
He previously served as a member of the Edo State Audit Service Commission, where he played a role in promoting accountability, transparency, and good governance.
According to the statement, the nomination will be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for legislative consideration and confirmation, in line with statutory requirements.
“This is to announce the nomination of Terry Igiebor as Chairman of the Edo State Ecological Funding and Management Commission. The nomination will be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for legislative consideration and confirmation, in line with statutory requirements,” he noted.
According to Ikhilor, the appointment is expected to bolster the state’s efforts in managing ecological funds and addressing environmental challenges while advancing sustainable development initiatives across Edo State.
