Edinburgh Airport has welcomed a brand new diner to its travel hub. Bringing together Scottish and American influences, it is a unique concept that won’t be found anywhere else.
The Forth & Main Diner & Grill opened at the end of June, taking over a site formerly owned by BrewDog. Found near gate 11 after security, it is conveniently located for travellers looking for pre-flight fuel, or for a relaxing spot after a long journey.
Described as “vintage Americana meets Modern Scotland”, the restaurant serves everything from comforting classics and breakfasts to coffee and cocktails. Depdning on the day, opening hours vary from early as 3:15am until 10pm to cater to a range of busy lifestyles.
The name itself highlights the influence of the two different cultures. Scotland’s Firth of Forth inspired the first part ‘Forth’, while the second ‘Main’ represents a nod to America’s classic Main Street, as reported by Hospitality & Catering News.
Opened by The Restaurant Group (TGRC), the new Scots-American diner boasts a “vibrant” setting that is said to represent the character of the venue. Bosses have said that every detail has been “carefully considered to give the space its own personality.”

This includes “playful design touches” and a bespoke Collector’s Series of illustrations that celebrates “Scottish character with a contemporary twist”. The end result is said to be a dining experience that is “unique to Edinburgh airport”.
The opening marks part of TGRC’s ongoing ambition to create original hospitality concepts that are inspired by the destinations they serve. Providing a new place shaped by place, character and memory, it also offers a new chapter for Edinburgh Airport.
Jonathan Knight, CEO of TRGC, said: “After a fantastic run with BrewDog, we saw an opportunity to create something completely new. Forth & Main is our take on the classic diner – inspired by Edinburgh, full of character and where vintage Americana meets modern Scotland.
“We wanted to build a place people would remember, not just somewhere to grab a quick bite before their flight. From the food and drinks to the interiors and artwork, every detail has been carefully considered to give the space its own personality. We can’t wait to welcome passengers through the doors and share Forth & Main with them.”

Stephanie Wear, Chief Commercial Officer at Edinburgh Airport, said: “Seeing a new brand join the airport is always exciting, and we know passengers will look forward to the range of food and drink on offer at Forth & Main.
“We always aim to offer choice, and this opening introduces a new dining concept to the airport – an all-day classic diner serving a blend of American and Scottish favourites from breakfast through to dinner. And that means big bites before flights.”
The Forth & Main Grill & Diner is not the only new addition to Edinburgh Airport recently. TGRC also recently introduced a new Giraffe restaurant that is now located just a few doors down by gate 6 after security.
Offering an “around the world” menu, travellers can choose from a wide range of dishes that include hearty breakfasts and mezze plates to burgers, noodles, and coffee made from carefully sourced beans.
Both restaurants join a massive roster of eateries available at Edinburgh Airport. Other places to dine include classics like McDonald’s, Wetherspoons and Pret a Manger, alongside fancier venues that include All Bar One and Seoul Bird.
In similar news, Costa Coffee recently set up shop in Glasgow Airport. Said to provide a “modern and welcoming space”, it offers everything from light bites and cakes to the brand’s handcrafted coffee.

Located just off the departures lounge, it is a handy spot for those who are looking for something to grab pre-flight, while visitors can also stay there when waiting for loved ones to arrive.
