Dolly Parton’s Loved Ones Visit Cemetery With Flowers 3 Days After Her Death

Dolly Parton’s loved ones gathered at her burial site in Nashville three days after the singer’s death.

Parton’s closest relatives, including her nephew and head of security, Bryan Seaver, were spotted arriving at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville on Friday, August 28, as seen in photos obtained by Page Six.

Seaver reportedly coordinated with police and security personnel and greeted people when they arrived at the cemetery.

It’s unclear whether the funeral took place.

The culture-defining musician died on August 25 following a brief and quiet battle with an undisclosed type of cancer.

“Global icon and humanitarian, Dolly Parton, known to the world as a beloved singer, songwriter, philanthropist, actress, playwright and author died peacefully today in Nashville, Tennessee,” read a statement shared via Parton’s spokesperson. “A rhinestone life that shone bright enough for the world to see, Dolly will forever stand as an inspiration not only through her timeless music and prolific songwriting, but also her wit, warmth and kindness that made us all feel like family.”

The statement continued, “Dolly Parton’s legacy is one of love, compassion and resilience. With a seven-decade career, she inspired multiple generations of artists and fans with her music and an unwavering commitment to making the world a better place. Her songs will continue to resonate with people of all ages, and her philanthropic work will have a lasting impact.”

Parton’s spokesperson also shared that a “small, private service will be held for immediate family while “fans and friends from around the world are encouraged to pay tribute to Dolly” on social media and her website, per the musician’s request. In lieu of flowers, the family asked for donations to be made to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The nonprofit mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age 5, no matter their family’s income.

After news of Parton’s death made headlines, a slew of tributes from fans, colleagues, friends and more flooded the internet. Miley Cyrus, Parton’s goddaughter, posted an emotional tribute to her beloved Aunt Dolly.

“The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share. Our most sacred moments were private and they’ll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour & between our hearts,” Cyrus, 33, wrote via Instagram on August 25, alongside a black-and-white throwback photo of Parton. “What I KNOW is Dolly would want me to feel it, write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong. I have an angel by my side. I always have. One of our last conversations was about music and metamorphosis. 🦋.”

Parton’s longtime friend Reba McEntire also shared a thoughtful message in the wake of the country music legend’s death.

“Well, I just got the news that my buddy Dolly passed onto the higher and greater side. Dolly, thank you for all the wonderful things you did for us here on earth. Your love, your music and you gave so much with your huge huge heart. There will never ever be another you,” McEntire, 71, wrote via Instagram at the time. “We will remember and cherish every memory and every note you ever played and sang. Thank you, Lord, for Dolly. She’s gonna have a blast in heaven singing all her favorite songs with all her family and friends who have gone on before her. I’ll never forget the first time I met you and I’ll never forget our last conversation. I hold it with love in my heart. I will always love you, Reba.”
