The naira extended its appreciation against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Tuesday.
Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria showed that the naira further strengthened to N1,362.55 per dollar on Tuesday, up from N1,364.83 traded against the dollar on Monday.
This means the naira appreciated by N2.28 against the dollar on a day-to-day basis.
Meanwhile, at the black market, the naira remained unchanged at N1,425 per dollar on Tuesday, the same rate recorded on Monday.
The development comes as the country’s external reserves rose further to $51.94 billion as of August 3, 2026.
Recall that on Monday, the naira appreciated against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market.
