A luxury cruise liner was compelled to scrap a voyage following the discovery of a technical problem – 24 hours after passengers had boarded.
The Disney Adventure cruise, scheduled to depart Singapore on May 7, was abruptly called off after holidaymakers had already stepped aboard, prompting them to leave the vessel, reports the Express.
According to one Reddit user, travellers were informed they would be able to “set sail soon”. They posted: “Midnight now. We’ve been waiting here since 2 p.m., and they have no update for us. What’s even worse is they’ve shut down all kitchens, coffee, etc. Why would they do that?”

Holidaymakers were provided with a complete refund, 50% discount on a future voyage, free hotel accommodation for May 7, reimbursement for hotel and flight alterations, up to $500 coverage for incidentals.
Disney informed USA Today: “We completely understand this was an unfortunate situation for our guests and worked with them directly to support their travel needs, help make their trip home as smooth as possible and invite them back to a future sailing.”
The Adventure cruise subsequently set off for its planned next voyage on May 11 once the technical issue was sorted.
The vessel, the biggest in Disney Cruise Line’s fleet and the first to be based in Asia, launched this March.
