Sir David Beckham was in the stands to watch England’s fixture against Ghana at the Boston Stadium just days after being embroiled in a Father’s Day feud with eldest son Brooklyn.
The former Three Lions captain looked smart as he stood beside son Cruz for the nation’s second fixture of this year’s World Cup.
Becks was in the crowd in Foxborough, Massachusetts, for the cagey fixture, and he proved to be a welcome distraction as his appearance on the big screen inside the stadium got the loudest cheer of the first half.
The former footballer wore a navy two-piece suit for the occasion, while Cruz opted for a more casual look. He stood with his hands in his pocket while wearing faded blue jeans and a baggy beige jumper.

David’s appearance comes after he had offered an olive branch to his estranged son, Brooklyn. On Father’s Day, the ex-sports star praised all of his children in gushing social media posts.
Captioning his post, he proudly penned: “Being a dad is my most important job – I love you all and thank you mummy @victoriabeckham for giving me our beautiful family. Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads around the world.”
But despite his best efforts, Brooklyn once again shunned his dad – as has been the case for a number of months. He has stayed silent on some huge occasions for his father, including his 50th birthday, his knighthood, and more recently his Hollywood Walk of Fame honour.
And it’s claimed the budding entrepreneur was left fuming at his dad’s efforts. Speaking to The Sun, a source said: “He’s fuming about it.
“He’s asked them to leave him alone, and they just keep posting him. It just brings the whole thing up all over again. He wishes they’d leave it and leave him alone.”

And while Brooklyn, 27, stayed silent on Father’s Day, his wife, Nicola Peltz-Beckham seemed to rub salt in the wounds with her gushing message to her own father. On Instagram, she said: “Happy father’s day dad! I’m so lucky I get to be your daughter, you’re the best dad in the entire world.
“Thank you for being the most loving and supportive father I could ever dream of. I love you to the moon and back a trillion times over. Thank you for always believing in me and always encouraging me to chase my biggest dreams.
“You’ve taught me to be so tough and to never give up. (Just like you ) I love you so so so so much! I hope today is so perfect for you.”
Brooklyn had previously said publicly: “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.

“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.
“Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own façade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”
