A Federal High Court in Gusau has fixed August 31, 2026, to deliver judgment in a suit challenging the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election in Zamfara North.

The case was filed by APC senatorial aspirant Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi against the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Senator Sahabi Ya’u, who was declared the winner of the primary election.

During Friday’s court session, both the plaintiff and the defendants adopted their final written addresses.

After reviewing the submissions, the trial judge, Justice Hassan Dikko, adjourned the case and fixed August 31, 2026, for judgment.

Shinkafi is asking the court to determine the legality of the APC primary election held for the Zamfara North Senatorial District.
