Country star reveals sweet way he will honor Dolly Parton every year
- Country music icon Dolly Parton has passed away at age 80 following a brief battle with cancer.
- Garth Brooks and wife, Trisha Yearwood,nash announced that their Nashville bar will celebrate an annual “Dolly Day” on September 25 in her honor.
- “Whatever the cash register says at the end of the day is going to Dolly’s passion,” Yearwood said. “This is 100 percent about Dolly and her love for children’s literacy.”
- All proceeds from “Dolly Day” at the Honky-Tonk will be donated to Parton’s children’s literacy charity, Imagination Library.
- Tennessee State Senator Jessie Seal proposed a bill to officially designate September 25 as a “9 to 5 Day” across the state.
