The Forum of Vice Chairmen of Local Government Councils in Cross River State have declared support for Governor Bassey Otu and President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, citing ongoing reforms and development initiatives at both state and federal levels, describing them as bold steps that are beginning to yield positive results across the country.
The forum made the declaration during a courtesy visit to the Federal Commissioner representing Cross River and Akwa Ibom states at the Federal Civil Service Commission, Ededet Eyoma in his office in Abuja.
Head of the forum and Vice Chairman of Bakassi LGA, Christina Eso, commended the commissioner for his open-door policy.
She described Eyoma’s appointment as a square peg in a square hole, eulogising his meritorious achievements and wealth of experience in human capital development.
She said, “We have full confidence in your reputable personality, exceptional abilities and leadership capacity to deliver even beyond expectations in your new role.”
Eso commended Tinubu and Otu for the nomination and appointment of Ededet Eyoma as the Federal Commissioner, stressing that his appointment aligns with the Renewed Hope agenda and People’s First Mantra of their administrations.
On his part, the Forum Welfare Chairman and Vice Chairman of Biase LGA, Hon. Ekuma Ngwu, said the visit was to identify with the commissioner and to pray for a successful tenure for him.
Ngwu reaffirmed their support for both Otu and Tinubu, expressing optimism that the synergy between state and federal government would deliver more dividends to the people.
In his remarks, Eyoma commended the forum for recognizing his services as Federal Commissioner representing Cross River and Akwa Ibom, describing the visit as support from home.
He pledge to collaborate with all relevant agencies including the Forum to selflessly discharge his expected responsibility.
Eyoma urged Nigerians to support Tinubu and remain patient with the administration’s ongoing reforms, saying the policies are beginning to produce positive results.
“The President is working to stabilise the economy. He is making bold efforts to expand development in the country. The Renewed Hope agenda will surely reposition Nigeria”, he said.
