Fans of Coronation Street think they know who stole Todd Grimshaw’s phone, and why they removed its sim card.
A scene showed a mystery person wearing gloves handing the device, and removing its sim. It followed Todd’s discovery that his phone had been missing since the night Theo Silverton was killed.
Todd’s partner Theo had stolen his phone that night, and so Todd presumed he had it on him when his body was found. Why he’s only just asked for it back has yet to be revealed, but it was clear he assumed the police had it.
When detective Lisa Connor-Swain informed him the phone was never handed in, Todd was stunned. We then saw the missing phone being held by a mystery person, who removed the sim card.

Again, why the police had only just flagged the phone was missing and hadn’t asked for it sooner, remains to be known. But could it give away Theo’s killer?
Some fans are divided on this, but they do think they have figured out who took the phone and why. There is every chance the person had to have taken it from Theo, so did they steal it after his demise, or did they find it?
All will be revealed, but fans think Gary Windass stole the device. They also think he’s being helped by Sarah Platt, after the pair’s secretive behaviour recently.
Fans suggested Gary took the phone thinking it was Theo’s, wanting to get rid of any texts between them after Gary threatened Theo. Another fan suggested Sarah was hiding this from everyone, and that she would alert Gary that the police are looking for the phone so that he gets rid of it.
Taking to social media, one fan said: “So we’re all agreed this was Gary with Todd’s phone getting rid of the sim to erase the messages where Todd asked him to rough up Theo… right? The ping off a local mast is gonna point to Gary next week ain’t it, but eves dropping Sarah is gonna forewarn him!”

Another fan said: “Okay so Gary definitely did something with Todd’s phone and Sarah knows that.” A third viewer added: “I think Gary had the phone thinking it’s Theo’s, because Gary sent him death threats.”
Another theory was that it had to be someone young. A fan said: “I’m calling it! It’s absolutely Miles, there’s no way any of the 6 suspects other than Summer would know where the SIM card is on a smart phone (well, maybe Gary but I don’t think he did it).”
A fan agreed: “Wait, who’s got the phone? Miles?” Next week, Kit is convinced Gary knows more than he’s letting on, as he grills Gary over Todd’s phone.
Soon, Kit’s suspicions are aroused once more as he watches hushed conversations, and he tells Lisa he is certain Gary is their killer. With Maria concerned about her relationship with Gary, what will she say when Lisa asks to go back over her statement from the night Theo died?
