An Oklahoma police officer and his wife are accused of stealing thousands of dollars from an 82-year-old man and splurging on concert tickets and a cruise with his funds.
Andrew McVicker, 28, an officer with the Alva Police Department, and Abbigale McVicker, 24, were arrested Saturday, August 29, on charges of exploitation of an elderly person and conspiracy, according to a news release issued by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation that same day.
The McVickers have been linked to multiple financial transfers that “occurred without the victim’s knowledge or consent,” the agency said.
“The total financial neglect against the 82-year-old victim is estimated to be over $74,000,” the agency also said in the release.
In March, the Oklahoma Department of Human Services Adult Protective Services learned that the older man, of Alva, was potentially being exploited and initiated an investigation, according to authorities.
The investigation revealed that in 2023, the McVickers moved in with the 82-year-old, authorities said.
Around the same time, Andrew “was also added to the victim’s bank accounts and was made power of attorney,” authorities said.
Agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation discovered Andrew withdrew $15,900 from the man’s accounts between April 2025 and May 2026, according to the agency.
Andrew also sent more than $25,000 to his wife over Cash App from January 2024 to March 2026, authorities said.
Andrew and Abbigale are accused of spending thousands on a variety of expenses, including restaurants, online shopping and transactions that took place in Mexico, according to credit card statements and financial records viewed by KOCO-TV.
When investigators interviewed the older man, he said he was unsure whether he allowed the McVickers to use his credit card, the TV station reported.
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents said the man was “barely able to walk and did not appear to be taking care of his hygiene,” per KOCO-TV.
Andrew reportedly told investigators with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services that he was assisting the man with “his finances and other needs,” the TV station reported.
The Alva Police Department has placed Andrew on administrative leave in connection with the criminal investigation, authorities said.

The city of Alva commented on the allegations involving Andrew in a statement on August 29.
“While the City of Alva does not comment on personnel matters, nor matters of ongoing investigations, administration and staff have taken immediate and appropriate action based on the limited information provided,” the city said. “We understand the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is conducting an investigation; the City of Alva has and will cooperate fully with said investigation.”
It wasn’t immediately clear whether Andrew or Abbigale had retained legal counsel.
