Arsenal thrashed Manchester City 3-0 in this year’s Community Shield, to win first silverware of the 2026/2027 campaign.
The Gunners came out flying in the game played at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, South Wales.
They took the lead within the opening seconds, after Myles Lewis-Skelly found Riccardo Calafiori inside the box.
Calafiori kept his composure to slide home the ball, after his compatriot Gianluigi Donnarumma had dived early.
Arsenal made it 2-0 before the break, with Donnarumma fumbling Kai Havertz’s header into the net.
The Premier League champions made the scoreline emphatic after Martin Odegaard dribbled into the area to score the third.
Mikel Arteta’s men will begin the defence of their title against Coventry City on Friday, while City play Bournemouth.
