Claremont Rambling Club sailed doon the water (well, caught the ferry from Wemyss Bay to Rothesay) on Sunday, July 26, when club members and visitors enjoyed a mainly sunny day out walking on the Isle of Bute.
This time most of the walkers opted for a fairly leisurely stroll of just under six miles along the coast to Port Bannatyne marina, where they stopped for lunch before returning to Rothesay.
A hardy few chose a slightly hilly nine-mile hike taking a more or less circular route past Loch Ascog, down to the coast at Kerrycroy Bay and then heading back inland along the West Island Way and returning to Rothesay.
A social hour in Rothesay ensured that thirsts were quenched for the return journey by ferry to Wemyss Bay and then back on the Club bus to East Kilbride.
