There might have been an early-morning international football match on Sunday, June 14, but that didn’t stop Claremont Rambling Club from continuing the celebrations just a few hours later by walking in the sunshine around Dalmellington in East Ayrshire.

The club bus stopped en route for coffee in Dobbies Garden Centre, Ayr, and then continued to Dalmellington, where everybody did the same walk on this occasion – a relatively easy one of just under six miles, taking a roughly circular route from the town past Bogton Loch, through the Craigengillan Estate and beside the River Doon.

Sunny, but not too warm, weather made for a perfect day rounded off by a social hour in the very welcoming Dalmellington Inn before the bus took everybody back to East Kilbride.
