Chelsea co-owners in talks to sell shares in the club

Why Chelsea think Morgan Rogers is worth £117m
  • Todd Boehly is open to selling his 12.8 per cent stake in Chelsea Football Club to majority owners Clearlake Capital.
  • Chelsea director Mark Walter is also reportedly in talks to sell his matching 12.8 per cent share to the private equity firm.
  • Clearlake Capital, led by Behdad Eghbali, currently holds a 61.5 per cent majority stake in the Premier League club.
  • The potential transaction follows reports of a rift between Boehly and Eghbali over conflicting visions for Chelsea, including plans for a new stadium.
  • With Chelsea now valued at £5bn, the sale would allow Boehly and Walter to roughly double their initial £325m investments made in 2022.
