Emergency services have descended on Bury town centre, with people told to avoid the area.

Police and firefighters have been pictured at The Rock car park on Derby Way, off Rochdale Road, this morning. Greater Manchester Police said it is responding to concerns for a person’s welfare at the car park.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Our crews are currently dealing with an incident on Rochdale Road in Bury. Residents are asked to please avoid the area at this time.”
