British star beats Taylor Swift to become UK’s most played artist again

- Ed Sheeran has been named the UK’s most-played artist for the eighth time in 11 years by music licensing agency PPL.
- The British singer-songwriter topped the chart, ahead of Taylor Swift in second place and Dua Lipa in third.
- Sheeran’s music is played an average of 574 times daily across radio, television and public venues, equating to 24 plays every hour.
- He expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from those who play his music.
- Separately, Myles Smith’s track “Nice To Meet You” was crowned the most-played song across the UK in 2025.
