The Britain’s Got Talent live final is upon us. Hundreds auditioned for the show in the hopes of getting a place in the Royal Variety Show, and now only 10 remain.
The 10 acts, which include Golden Buzzer winner and singer Matty Juniosa and PowerPoint comedian Ted Hill, performed again for the judges – Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and KSI. The winner, Hawkstone Farmers Choir, won £250,000 alongside the Royal Variety spot, and was ultimately decided by a public vote. Jeremy Clarkson, their “biggest cheerleader” erupted into cheers, but not everyone was happy.
Due to the calibre of all the performances, the judges found it hard to pick a winner for their predictions. Audiences booed when LMA and Matty Juniosa didn’t even make the top three.

Drone show Celestial’s pre-recorded performance recreated several iconic moments from BGT history, including George Sampson’s dance to Singin’ In The Rain, Susan Boyle’s audition, Diversity’s audition and Sydnie Christmas winning the show.
They also recreated moments from their own audition, including a beefeater that they turned into Marge Simpson to celebrate KSI mistaking the iconic London figure for the American cartoon character.
They ended with a drone fist pushing a gloden buzzer before turning the image into Simon Cowell’s face.

Comedian Ted HIll has told the audience not to boo him mid performance. During his act, he pretended to get the ‘6-7’ joke wrong and yelled out “76!”

At the end of the performance, KSI asked: “Why did that explode? It didn’t need to explode…”

BGT have made a huge change this year that has left fans massively disappointed.
Usually, the show will introduce a wild card act, who lost in their semi-final but who the judges and producers felt deserved another chance. But, this year that didn’t happen.
“Oh there isn’t a wildcard this year”, someone posted on X followed by a sad face emoji.
A second asked: “Oh so no Wildcard?”, with someone else saying: “So did they just quietly bin the Wildcard act they do every year?”

During his magic performance, 17-year-old Rafferty Coope borrowed Amanda Holden’s ring for a trick. He remarked: “It looks expensive…”
Amanda nodded: “So be careful with it!”
Rafferty proceeded to throw confetti over the ring, at which point, it disappeared from view. “Sometimes, we lose things,” Rafferty said, before adding: “But the answer could be right at our feet.”
He then put his foot on the table to reveal that the ring was on his laces. He put it in a card box, but when Amanda shook it, it was gone again. He asked her if it was in there and she said: “No it blinking isn’t!”
It was on his finger instead.

Just one act in, KSI has labelled a performance as “a BGT winning performance”.
The Youtuber was left gobsmacked by Liwei Yang’s fire juggling and hailed her as a winner – despite not seeing any other performances.

Liwei Yang has taken to the stage, but she was delayed getting there. After the fire juggler vowed to “set the final on fire”, Ant and Dec revealed to audiences that the stage hadn’t finished being prepped yet and they were still waiting for something.
“We need the fire extinguishers!” joked Dec.
When she got on stage, Liwei was lifted into the air by her husband as she threw a table that had been set alight in the air with her feet. KSI said: “That was the scariest act I’ve ever seen”.

Favourite to win Matty Juniosa told the Mirror: “I don’t think I can ever thank the show enough for what it has done for me and my family and even my country. We finally have a present day queer native Filipino international personality and performer, and my family has been reunited in the UK because of this opportunity. I also got to finally meet my niece in person whom I haven’t had the chance to see because she was born when I moved here.
“It would be insane to win the money and the chance at performing for the royal family. It would mean I get to invest in the career I want to build here in the UK, help out with getting my sister and niece through school, finally let my mom take it easy on her work and help out fellow Filipinos get the opportunities I had. And also, this would mean getting a nicer flat to live in, which has been such a struggle with the level of income new performers in the industry have!”

Jeremy Clarkson’s choir, The Hawkstone Farmers Choir, has made it to the final of BGT and shared what they hope for the show and after.
Katryna Shell and Ben Brooke said: “We hope Jeremy Clarkson will be there at the Royal Variety Performance. Maybe that will be the impetus to get him to sing on stage – knowing the King will be watching…we just might have to ensure his microphone is muted.
“Jeremy doesn’t really get involved with the singing advice – we have our lovely choir master Elizabeth for that. That said, he is very good at coming up with lyrics. He’s very clever with his words.”

There have been 18 winners of BGT so far – seven music acts, two dog acts, two magicians, three comedians and four dancers/dance groups.
The first winner was crowned in 2007, when opera singer Paul Potts impressed with his rendition of Nessun Dorma. The following year, 14 year-old George Sampson won after showing off his break dancing skills.
The third winner was Diversity, who are perhaps one the best known BGT acts. Their leader, Ashley Banjo, has gone on to become a TV presenter. Dancing seemed to be a big hitter with audiences, as dance group Spellbound won the following year.
In 2011, singer Jai McDowall broke the dancers’ winning streak, and the next year, the crown went to Ashleigh Baker and her dog Pudsey. But, in 2013, the winners were once again dancers, as Attraction, a dance troupe that used movement to create images and tell a story came first.
2014 saw singing group Collabro win with their musical theatre performances. Jules and Matisse, another dog act, won the next year’s series. The first magician to win was Richard Jones, who won in 2016, while in 2017, pianist Tokio Myers won next.
Comedian Lee Ridley, who went by Lost Voice Guy, won in 2018. Singer Colin Thackery won in 2019. Comedy singer Jon Courtenay won in 2020 and comedy continued to be winner in 2022 and 2023, when Axel Blake and Viggo Venn were announced as the winner.
2024’swinner was musical theatre singer Sydnie Christmas and the most recent winner was musician Harry Moulding.

JP Partridge, the director of drone show Celestial, has said: “If we win, we have ambitions to deliver our shows to more and more people, we’d love to use the money to open some doors and subsidise a tour around the UK to let lots of people see this first hand.
“As for the final, I can’t promise a drone Corgi, but I can promise you a drone dancing dog… and that’s all I can say. Things can always go wrong, and that is why there is so much pressure on what we do. Thankfully all has gone well up until now!”

Mis-Teeq are said to be in talks about reuniting for a special one-off performance, which could happen on Britain’s Got Talent to celebrate a huge anniversary.
As the 25th anniversary of their debut album, Lickin’ On Both Sides, approaches, sources have revealed that the girl group are in talks to reunite and could perform on Britain’s Got Talent. The record was initially released in 2001 and sat at No3 in the Official Album Charts.
Speaking to the Mirror, a source said: “There’s always talks of a reunion and projects on the table, but it’s a matter of trying to get everyone together. Alesha and Su both have children; Su’s in Australia permanently, and Sabrina has been doing a lot of solo gigs across the UK and Europe.
“Sabrina and Su participated in the Girlbands documentary, albeit separately, but it raised more questions than answers, with Sabrina being visibly upset when asked about how the group split, following their UK label’s collapse. Su mentioned there was a potential new record deal for the group at the time, which then became an Alesha solo deal. Nobody’s sure if Sabrina was aware of that, or if the first time she found out was watching the documentary. “

Anastasiia and Salsa are the hoping to follow in Ashleigh and Pudsey’s footsteps and win BGT with a dog act.
Anastasiia told Mirror: “If we win, the money would definitely be going on treats. She’ll be spoiled with them.
Once Salsa’s on the stage she’s the main star of the show. She loves attention and she loves to be among people. As for which judge is Salsa’s favourite, Maybe Alesha, she is always so nice and lovely with her comments. I think she really loves Salsa”
