Britain and US set to sign groundbreaking AI clean energy deal
- Britain and the United States are entering into two formal agreements at the London Global Fusion Summit to deepen bilateral co-operation on artificial intelligence and fusion power.
- The accords feature a supercomputing partnership between the UK Atomic Energy Authority and the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory aimed at accelerating commercial clean energy.
- Both nations will also commit to aligned regulatory frameworks for fusion energy to encourage private investment and boost sectoral growth.
- UK Energy Minister Michael Shanks noted that fusion technology could support more than 10,000 UK jobs by 2030 while cementing Britain’s position as a world leader.
- The announcements coincide with additional UK fusion funding schemes, including a £3 million investment from Japanese firm Kyoto Fusioneering into Project Albion.
