Troops of the 233 Tank Battalion have intercepted a vehicle carrying 11 empty Compressed Natural Gas, CNG, cylinders and a Greco open-loop kit without the required security clearance in Borno State.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the vehicle was intercepted at about 1:00 pm on September 6, 2026, during a routine stop-and-search operation at the Mega Checkpoint.
The troops arrested the driver and recovered the 11 CNG cylinders and one Greco open-loop kit from the vehicle.
“The items were reportedly being transported without security clearance, prompting the troops to detain the driver for further investigation,” the report stated.
