The “controlled explosion” of an unattended car outside a London station led to the station being evacuated and services being delayed.
Emergency services attended the area around St Pancras Station in central London on Tuesday.
The Independent understands the station was evacuated briefly.
On X, TFL access said about the Kings Cross St Pancras tube station 2.39pm: “Main and North Entrance/Entry closed due to an unattended vehicle at the request of Metropolitan Police. Station remains in full operation.”
Metropolitan Police officers were called to the area following concerns around a vehicle. A controlled explosion was carried out and has since been declared as non-suspicious.
TFL access said at 3.24pm that the tube station had fully reopened.
However, the police incident led to delays on certain services.
An earlier statement on the Eurostar website said: “Due to a request for police assistance at London St Pancras International, your train is delayed. We’re very sorry for the disruption to your trip.”
The Independent understands normal operations resumed within approximately 15 minutes. Eurostar services are now operating as normal .
East Midlands Railway (EMR) was also experiencing delays across the network but its services are now running as usual.
A spokesperson for National Rail said: “Trains are now running normally now the emergency services are safely clear of the railway at London St Pancras International.”
