Boeing’s new jets finally cleared for US flights – and Southwest is celebrating
- Boeing has received Federal Aviation Administration approval for its 737 Max 7 jetliner, enabling the smallest variant of the Max family to enter commercial service nearly a decade after its initial unveiling.
- This certification marks a significant turning point for Boeing, which has grappled with extensive safety, quality and production issues following two fatal crashes involving the larger 737 Max 8 in 2018 and 2019 that claimed 346 lives.
