  • Ten-man Belgium were held to a goalless draw by Iran in their World Cup Group G match, which took place in Los Angeles on Sunday.
  • Iran’s resilient defence, bolstered by goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand’s seven saves, successfully repelled numerous Belgian attacks throughout the match.
  • Belgium were reduced to ten men in the second half after Nathan Ngoy received a red card for hauling down Mehdi Taremi, who was through on goal.
  • Despite dominating possession, Belgium failed to break the deadlock against Iran’s strong defensive performance.
  • Both teams now have two points in Group G; Iran is scheduled to play Egypt next in Seattle, while Belgium will face New Zealand in Vancouver.
