BBNaija unveils Aikou, Flora as ‘the gambit,’ rules them out of N160m prize

Big Brother Naija Season 11 has unveiled Aikou and Flora as the first recipients of the season’s “The Gambit” twist, guaranteeing them places in the house until the grand finale but ruling them out of the race for the ₦160 million grand prize.
The announcement was made during Sunday’s live show after viewers voted to determine one male and one female housemate to assume the special role.
Flora emerged as the female Gambit after polling 29.38 per cent of the votes, while Aikou secured the male Gambit position with 9.10 per cent. Ricky finished with 7.30 per cent of the votes, while Abi polled 6.07 per cent.
With their selection, Aikou and Flora are now guaranteed to remain in the competition until the end of the season. However, they will no longer be eligible to win the show’s record-breaking ₦160 million grand prize.
Announcing the outcome on X, the organisers wrote, “Voters have chosen The Gambit. Aikou and Flora are safe until the finale, but there’s one catch… they are no longer in the running for the ₦160 million grand prize.”
The organisers also teased the next phase of the twist, asking viewers, “What’s your first assignment for The Gambit this week?”
Aikou, 25, is a freelance teacher and web developer from Abuja. Described as calm, strong and outspoken, the self-confessed bookworm says he is comfortable in his own company. He is also single and ready to fall in love again, while admitting he has little tolerance for dishonesty.
Flora from Delta State is a makeup entrepreneur known for her love of fashion and confidence. She describes her love life as “complicated” and says her honesty and bold personality are enough to keep fellow housemates on their toes.
Ahead of the announcement, Biggie had explained that the gameplay, known as “The Gambit,” would grant the selected housemates longevity in the competition but at a high cost.
“This gameplay is called The Gambit. Should you be selected, you will be gifted longevity in the Big Brother house, guaranteeing you a place in the game until the end of the season.
“However, it comes with one important condition. You will not be competing for the grand prize. You will, however, remain a fully-fledged housemate, and all the rules of the game still apply to you,” Biggie said.
The selection followed a public vote, with Head of House Chimsom Chuka excluded from the voting process.
Big Brother Naija Season 11 premiered on July 26, featuring 24 housemates competing for a record-breaking ₦160 million grand prize.
