BBC Radio 1 schedule shake-up sees six presenters leave station
- BBC Radio 1 has announced a schedule shake-up, which will see six of its presenters depart the station.
- Rickie Haywood-Williams and Melvin Odoom, who have hosted their mid-morning show for seven years, are among those leaving, alongside Dean McCullough, Nat O’Leary, James Cusack and Swarzy.
- The station is set to welcome five new permanent hosts, including GK Barry, Charley Marlowe, Mylo & Rosie, and Emil Franchi, as part of the refreshed schedule.
- Specific changes include Mylo and Rosie taking over the weekday Early Breakfast show, and Jeremiah Asiamah joining Charlie Hedges on the Live Lounge, replacing Rickie and Melvin.
- The departing presenters expressed their gratitude to listeners and excitement for future projects.
