Barefoot man holding Palestinian flag seen scaling Big Ben’s Elizabeth Tower in CCTV footage

• A pro-Palestine protester is accused of climbing the Elizabeth Tower, also known as Big Ben, and remaining there for over 15 hours.
• Daniel Day, 30, from Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, denies intentionally or recklessly causing a public nuisance during the incident on 8 March last year.
• CCTV footage reportedly shows Mr Day scaling the tower at approximately 7:20 am and not descending until after midnight.
• The demonstration is alleged to have cost the British taxpayer £67,000.
• The hearing regarding the charges against Mr Day is ongoing at Southwark Crown Court.
