Barbra Streisand, 84, will not attend the Cannes Film Festival’s closing ceremony on 23 May to accept her honorary Palme d’Or.
Her absence is due to a knee injury, with doctors advising her against travelling.
Streisand expressed deep honour for the award and regret at missing the festival, her colleagues, and France.
Despite her absence, the prestigious award, recognising her decades-long film career, will still be bestowed upon her.
John Travolta and Peter Jackson also received honorary Palme d’Or awards during the festival, with the closing ceremony set to announce the main Palme d’Or for best film.
