Ashley Cain has been met with yet more family trauma after revealing that his beloved gran has died. The reality TV star, whose daughter Azaylia died aged just eight months in 2021, shared his latest heartbreak in a moving social media tribute.
Holding his drear gran’s hand one last time in the snap, Ashley wrote: “Yesterday, we said goodbye to my grandma. She wasn’t just my grandma. She was my carer, my protector, my confidant and, in so many ways, my second mum.
“She helped raise me, shaped me and loved me through every chapter of my life. When I look back now, I realise just how much of the man I’ve become was built on the love she gave me.

“She had the kindest heart I’ve ever known. Everything she did was for somebody else. She carried our family with quiet strength, endless compassion and complete selflessness. She never needed recognition or praise because making the people she loved happy was enough for her.”Ashley reminisced on happy childhood memories, from her having his dinner ready to kicking a football with her “when no one else would”. And he described them not as routines, but “the moments that became the foundation of my life”.
He went on: “She made me feel safe. She made me feel loved. She believed in me before the world ever knew my name, and she never stopped believing in me, no matter where life took me.”The hardest part of losing someone like her is knowing there will never be another. People like my grandma don’t come around twice. They leave fingerprints on your soul that time can never erase.”
His heartfelt words continued as he thanked her for all the sacrifices she made for him and his family over the years. “Thank you for every meal, every hug, every prayer, every lesson and every act of love that helped shape my life.
“Thank you for giving me a childhood full of warmth and a lifetime of memories that I will treasure forever. You weren’t just an incredible grandmother. You were one of the greatest blessings my life has ever known, and I hope you always knew just how deeply you were loved.”
And Ashley ended with a heartbreaking message: “Please give Azaylia the biggest kiss and cuddle, and keep looking after her for me in the heavens above. Rest in eternal paradise, Grandma. Until we meet again.”
The former Ex on the Beach star had previously shared a touching video of him dancing with his grandmother on her 90th birthday.
In the heartwarming video, he is seen carefully lifting her from her seat and slow dancing to Wet Wet Wet’s Love Is All Around.
The duo sweetly sang to each other before Ashley kissed her on the cheek and told her he loved her. Posting it to Instagram at the time, Ashley wrote: “My relationship with her is something truly special, and I will forever be grateful for everything she taught me.

“This video didn’t need any polishing – because the sparkle was already in the moment that was shared. Hopefully, it serves as a small reminder of just how much she has always meant to me.”
