Arsenal will be able to recruit from a position of strength this summer. The new Premier League champions could also enter the transfer window as Champions League winners.
Mikel Arteta’s side lifted the Premier League trophy on Sunday and could still add to their legacy before the end of the season. The Gunners are preparing to face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final this weekend as Arsenal seek to win the competition for the first time in their history.
While several of their domestic rivals are in transitional periods heading into the summer, the stability offered by Arteta’s team could give the club an advantage in the transfer market. Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez has been consistently linked with a high-profile switch to the Emirates Stadium.
Meanwhile, Leandro Trossard has spoken about his future at Arsenal. Mirror Football takes a look at some of the biggest stories surrounding the Gunners.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has admitted that Julian Alvarez has likely already decided on his next steps. The Argentina international has been linked with Arsenal and is reportedly valued at £90million.
“It’s not a question for me, it’s a question for Julian,” Simeone said to Movistar when asked about Alvarez’s future. “He’s old enough to know what he’s going to do, and I imagine he’s already made his decision.”
The former Manchester City star scored 20 goals across all competitions for Atletico this season. Ahead of facing Arsenal in the Champions League semi-finals, Simeone explained that Arsenal were among the clubs interested in the 26-year-old.
“I’m not inside Julian Alvarez’s head,” Simeone said in April. “It’s normal that an extraordinary player like Julian Alvarez is wanted by Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona. It’s normal because he’s very good.”

Leandro Trossard has stated that he expects to remain an Arsenal player next season. The Belgian forward has featured 49 times across all competitions this term but is set to enter the last 12 months of his deal.
When asked if he would be staying at Arsenal, Trossard told Metro: “At the moment, yes. I still have one year on my contract, and hopefully, first we win the Champions League. Then I think next season can be another very nice season.”
The 31-year-old was the subject of transfer interest last summer. However, the Arsenal star explained how speaking to Arteta helped him make his decision.
“Competition is always there,” Trossard said. “I am not afraid of that. They can bring in whoever they want. I know that I can hold my own.
“It was more about appreciation towards me, and I did feel that. In the summer, I had a very good conversation with the coach. He also helped me in those negotiations and showed me that he really saw me as an important piece.”
