Transfer speculation involving Arsenal is ramping up as we approach two weeks since the summer window opened. The Gunners are yet to formally announce any new first-team arrivals, though they have still been working hard behind the scenes.

Various targets, based domestically and abroad, have been widely reported. However, it is expected that the real business will be conducted next month as the World Cup 2026 draws to a close.

Manager Mikel Arteta is understood to be keen to upgrade in several positions, namely central midfield, left wing and striker. That could see the 2025/26 Premier League champions splurge close to the record £250million sum they spent last year.

Now, with the rumour mill in full flow, Mirror Football takes a look at two of the most recent transfer developments involving the north Londoners.

Arsenal target Ayyoub Bouaddi will only consider clubs this summer who can guarantee him a “key role”, according to The Athletic. The Lille midfielder, 18, has been linked with several big clubs, including Arsenal and Real Madrid.

He is currently representing Morocco at the World Cup, where his impressive performances have caught the eye. But football.london reports Arsenal sporting director Berta had already made inroads with Bouaddi’s representatives.

These conversations did not take place this week; they are understood to have happened as early as the start of the year as the Italian chief has known for some time that Bouaddi was a world-class talent. Yet, the Athletic report claims Berta would need to guarantee him consistent playing time to convince him to leave Lille, who secured Champions League qualification this season.

The Ligue 1 side are also said to have placed a £68.9m valuation on Bouaddi, who has already managed 96 appearances for the French outfit. Any transfer will need to wait until the World Cup concludes.

Saudi Pro League side Al Diraiyah have reportedly submitted a £17m bid for Leandro Trossard. The 31-year-old had already been linked with a move away from north London, with the Gunners understood to be prioritising a new left-sided winger this summer.

Now, according to Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad, Saudi club Al-Diraiyah have shown an interest in signing Trossard and approached the Gunners with a £17m offer. Al-Diraiyah are hoping to bolster their squad after clinching promotion to Saudi’s top-flight and Dougie Freedman, who is the club’s sporting director, sees the Belgium international, currently in action at the World Cup, as a top target.

It’s claimed they are willing to offer Trossard, who has just 12 months left on his current contract at the Emirates Stadium, a deal worth almost £9m-a-year if he indicates he is willing to move to the Middle East, which the report claims is a ‘monster’ offer.

Aston Villa, Besiktas and Newcastle United are among the other clubs that have been linked with a move for Trossard, who has 36 goals and 34 assists in 174 games for Arsenal.
