Arne Slot writes emotional letter to Liverpool fans after his sacking
‘I haven’t been perfect’: Arne Slot rues Liverpool decisions in final press conference
Arne Slot has broken his silence after being sacked by Liverpool, just one year after leading the club to a Premier League title.
Slot, who replaced Jurgen Klopp, was dismissed on Saturday following a challenging season where the team finished fifth in the table.
The Dutchman penned an open letter to Liverpool supporters, exclusively reported by the Liverpool ECHO, reflecting on his two years at the club and the ‘beyond special’ title-winning season.
In his letter, Slot thanked the fans for their ‘spirit of compassion and unity’ and acknowledged their support during difficult times, including the tragic death of player Diogo Jota.
He expressed confidence in the club’s future, stating that Liverpool is ‘exactly where it belongs: amongst Europe’s elite’ and that the foundations built by the players will endure.
