A Labour leader and the immediate past president of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, Williams Akporeha, has explained why President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 10.9 million votes at the just-concluded All Progressives Congress presidential primary cannot be an error.

In a recent statement, Akporeha noted that votes garnered by President Tinubu were duly earned.

He said the votes came as a result of Tinubu’s government’s priority placed on Workers’ welfare, productivity, and the future of the people.

He cited Tinubu’s pro-people interventions, including the Student Loan Scheme, support for small businesses, and efforts to stabilise the economy, as to why the president earned the votes at the APC presidential primary.

“The votes of 10.9 million Nigerians cannot be an error; they were earned through policies that prioritise the welfare, productivity, and future of the people.

“From our members in 8,809 wards to the 774 local government areas, the message is clear: working people trust President Tinubu to finish the good work he has started,” Akporeha, who doubled as the coordinator of Working People United, stated.

DAILY POST reports that the APC primary results declared by former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim, President Tinubu polled 10.9 million votes, while his only rival for the ticket, Stanley Osifo, scored 16,503.
