Amanda Holden has revealed details about an awkward backstage encounter following Westlife’s appearance on Britain’s Got Talent last week. The 55-year-old resumed her position on the judging panel alongside Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and KSI for the third semi-final, which included a set from the Irish boyband.
Speaking about their crowd-pleasing medley on the Heart Radio Breakfast show this week, Amanda recounted an amusing anecdote about what unfolded behind the scenes afterwards.
“The audience went nuts!,” she told her co-stars Ashley Roberts and Jamie Theakston. “They’ve been on Heart Radio loads and we just love them but yeah we saw them backstage and they just look amazing, they’re super excited. It’s two years [long] that tour.”
She went on to say: “The funny thing was my dressing room on BGT is the closest one to the stage and they asked whether they could come in to get undressed because they just wanted to get straight into the car and leave.

“They had to kick out my husband and my PR man was quite disappointed to have to leave, that’s all I’m going to say.”
Renowned for commanding attention on the programme, Amanda dazzled in a transparent ice-hued evening dress boasting a striking high-neck scarf accent and feather detailing.
She completed the sophisticated look by sweeping her blonde locks into an elegant high bun, complemented by an extended side-swept fringe.
On X, viewers were swift to express their opinions on her wardrobe selection. One user remarked: “Is Amanda wearing a bra.#BGT@BGT.” Another wrote: “At least Amanda is wearing something a little bit respectful this week but not much.”
A third complained: “Definitely not suitable for a family show.” A fourth typed: “Wow is this a family show,” while another added: “It’s beautiful but doesn’t need to be see through.”

Having previously prompted Ofcom complaints regarding her outfit selections, Amanda tackled the controversy during a chat with Closer Magazine.
She said: “What you see on TV, I really love. I’m always asked about the Ofcom complaints, but every outfit on the show is checked before I leave my dressing room, so I’m never worried.”
The judge continued by championing a more playful attitude towards fashion, adding: “I think people should have fun with fashion!”.
The Britain’s Got Talent panellist also insisted the programme provided the ideal platform for bold choices.

She previously told The Sun: “There’s a t*t committee. There are so many brilliant people, they come down, knock on the door and there’s the lady who’s the producer who said, ‘Mandy, it looks great’.”
This week, more acts will perform in the hope of joining Matty Juniosa, Anastasiia and Salsa, Fabian Fox, Sadeck Berrabah and LMA Liwei Yang and Ted Hill in the final.
Britain’s Got Talent continues tonight at 6pm on ITV and ITVX.
