Thousands of Albanians protested against Jared Kushner‘s proposed 5 billion euro luxury resort development on the country’s southern coastline.
The demonstration in Tirana highlighted concerns over a lack of transparency surrounding the project and its potential impact on a protected wetland near Zvernec, home to rare wildlife.
Protesters expressed outrage at the involvement of foreign investors and perceived widespread corruption within the Albanian government, blaming Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Ivanka Trump, Kushner’s wife, revealed plans to transform Sazan Island into a luxury eco-resort, stating she “fell in love” with Albania during a yacht visit.
Prime Minister Rama confirmed the project would proceed, despite public outcry and ongoing accusations of corruption against his administration.
