North Lanarkshire’s Provost was among the guests on hand for the opening of a new KFC in Airdrie.
As previously reported by Lanarkshire Live, the Carlisle Road restaurant has created 65 new jobs in the local community, including a mixture of team member, team leader and management roles, with employment opportunities still open for applications.
The new 249m2 drive thru is among the first in the world to feature KFC’s refreshed branding.
It is one of Scotland’s first restaurants to serve Kwench by KFC, a brand-new speciality drinks range, with a Kwench counter for customers to enjoy the fresh line-up.
The restaurant is fitted with 70 seats for customers choosing to eat in, as well as four digital ordering kiosks for those who want to grab and go.
For customers wanting to enjoy their fried chicken on the move, it features two drive-thru windows, alongside 24 parking spaces and three electric vehicle charging points for those taking a break to refuel and savour their fried chicken experience.
Delivery is available via Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats.
Provost Kenneth Duffy said: “KFC opening a new restaurant in Airdrie is fantastic news for our community, creating 65 jobs and bringing further investment to the area.
“Businesses choosing to invest here help strengthen our local economy, and I look forward to seeing KFC make a positive contribution to the community.”

As part of KFC’s commitment to being a good neighbour in the local area, the Airdrie team will take part in daily litter picks to keep the local community clean and tidy.
The restaurant will also be actively involved in KFC’s food donation programme, which ensures surplus food is redistributed to people in need across Airdrie via the Felix Project.
