The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed that three security operatives were killed in an attack on the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, in the early hours of Monday.

In an information update in Jos on Tuesday, signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Alfred Alabo, the command disclosed that security has been beefed up around the facility following the attack.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) by N75 per litre

In a circular to fuel marketers on Monday, the refinery said the adjustment followed the de-escalation of the tension in the Middle East, which had impacted energy prices in the past three months.

3. Edo demolishes building linked to suspected ritualists

The Edo State Government on Monday demolished a building allegedly linked to cultism and ritual activities in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of the state.

Another property was also sealed off in a renewed crackdown on crime and criminal networks.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by Governor Monday Okpebholo’s media aide, Patrick Ebojele, the operation was carried out under “Operation Flush Out Kidnappers and Cultists” and involved the Edo State Security Corps, the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies under the supervision of senior security officials attached to the governor.

4. Makinde vows to safely rescue abducted Oyo students, teachers

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has assured residents that the abducted schoolchildren and teachers in the state will be rescued, saying the government is doing everything possible to secure their release.

Makinde gave the assurance while addressing social media influencer VeryDarkMan and other protesters at the Oyo State Government House in a video circulating on Tuesday.

Speaking on the incident, the governor said he was personally distressed by the abduction, noting that the victims, who include nursery and primary school pupils, had been in captivity for over a month.
