A Federal Capital Territory, FCT High Court in Abuja, on Wednesday, sentenced Jonathan Markus to death by hanging for killing his 82-year-old boss, Ezekiel Adebola, and 67-year-old wife, Abiodun.
DAILY POST reports that Jonathan, a former driver to the deceased was on 1st April, 2024 arrested by operatives of the FCT Police Command following the death of the boss and his wife in Apo Legislative Quarters, Abuja.
Upon his arrest, the incident was subjected to extensive investigation and subsequent prosecution by the FCT Police.
The now convict was tracked to Obajana, Kogi State, where he had gone into hiding after he committed the crime and he was moved back to Abuja for further investigation.
The then suspect was subsequently arraigned before the FCT High Court, where the FCT Command prosecuted the case.
After evaluating the evidence adduced by the prosecution and hearing the submissions of counsel, Hon. Justice M. S. Idris of the FCT High Court held that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt and consequently, sentenced the convict to death.
