A number of dogs have caused a 7-year-old girl suffered significant injuries to her scalp and legs after authorities say she was attacked by multiple dogs.
The child, identified by her family as Patricia, was attacked around 12:30 p.m. local time on June 27 in the area of Barham Avenue and Bosque Avenue near Corning, according to a Tehama County Sheriff’s Office press release. Her condition was unknown at the time of the sheriff’s office’s June 27 release.
A GoFundMe has since been organised by Patricia’s grandmother, Monica Edmiston, to raise money to support the little girl’s recovery.

“The dogs ripped her scalp off and left her with numerous wounds all over her body,” Edmiston wrote on the fundraiser. “Patricia is an incredibly strong little girl, and her resilience is inspiring everyone around her.”
The fundraiser said Patricia’s father and brothers remained by her side throughout her time in hospital, sleeping in their car in Sacramento to stay close to her while seeking help with gas, food and other basic necessities.
In an update shared on the fundraiser, Edmiston said Patricia had been discharged from the hospital on June 30. It reads: “Our little warrior Patricia made it home today. She is happy to be back with her family, but she has a long road ahead of her.”
According to the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office, deputies interviewed witnesses at the scene. Six dogs believed to have been involved were seized as evidence and taken to the Tehama County Animal Shelter.

The investigation remains ongoing and authorities have said additional information will be released as it becomes available. No arrests or citations have been made.
The fundraiser had raised more than $4,100, surpassing its original $3,000 goal to help Patricia’s family with expenses during her recovery.
