Two individuals were arrested on Wednesday afternoon after scaling the Empire State Building and unfurling a banner from its antenna spire.
New York City police and building security responded to the Midtown Manhattan scene, with helicopters circling the landmark.
The climbers, identified as Angela Nikolau, 33, and Vanya Beerkus, 32, are prominent rooftop climbers featured in the Netflix documentary ”Skywalkers: A Love Story.”
The banner displayed the message, “When the power of love beats the love of power the world knows peace.”
The stunt reportedly concluded with a marriage proposal between Nikolau and Beerkus, who later confirmed their engagement on Instagram.
