Tuesday saw England slip up against Ghana and Cristiano Ronaldo announce his return to prominence with a brace against Uzbekistan. The tournament is still heating up.
An exciting set of matches takes place on Wednesday as teams look to secure their place in the knockout rounds. Scotland are among the standout candidates as they take on Brazil attempting to claim their spot, while Morocco face Haiti.
Switzerland take on Canada, while Bosnia and Herzegovina attempt to claim their first win over Qatar. Group A also reaches its finale. South Africa and South Korea face off, while home nation Mexico, who are already through, play Czechia.
Elsewhere, Gianni Infantino has discussed hydration breaks and the prospect of them continuing beyond this World Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo has refused to discuss Lionel Messi’s exploits, and GGhana boss Carlos Queiroz was left unimpressed with Jude Bellingham.

I will keep playing.”The truth is I’m not thinking about that right now (next World Cup), it seems a bit far off. “But as I said, I’m living one day at a time and focused on the present.”

GHANA boss Carlos Queiroz claims he’s not interested in politics after Djed Spence refused to shake Thomas Partey’s hand.
The former Manchester United assistant brought Partey straight into Ghana’s starting line-up after he missed last week’s World Cup opener against Panama in Toronto.
Queiroz spoke after Thomas Tuchel was blocked from commenting on the topic: “It did not happen [handshake], as you saw, in the comments of Thomas, we refuse to be part of people that try to bring dust and politics inside the game.
“We fight to keep the frontline sacred. It’s difficult sometimes but it happens. We have to congratulate everyone on the game, we leave politics outside of the game.”
