A man has suffered horror injuries after being shot with a nail gun in a terrifying robbery.
Shortly before 11pm Saturday 20 June 2026, police officers in New South Wales, Australia were called to reports of an assault. Emergency services were called to a home on Goonoo Goonoo Road, Tamworth to deal with the incident.
It is not known how many people were involved in the brutal attack but police were told a group of people stole cash from the man.

Upon arrival officers attached to Oxley Police District arrived and found a man in his 40s with nail gun wounds to his face, chest and hand. The man, who has not been identified, was rushed to Tamworth Hospital by NSW Ambulance paramedics for treatment.
It has now been confirmed that the victim suffered a fractured skull, lacerations to his head, and puncture wounds in the brutal attack.
Now New South Wales Police are appealing for information to help with their investigation. A statement on their website read: “Police are appealing for information after a man was shot multiple times with a nail gun at a property in the state’s northeast on the weekend. Emergency services were called to a home on Goonoo Goonoo Road, Tamworth, shortly before 11pm Saturday 20 June 2026, with reports of an assault.
“Officers attached to Oxley Police District arrived and found a man in his 40s with nail gun wounds to his face, chest and hand. The man was taken to Tamworth Hospital by NSW Ambulance paramedics for treatment of a fractured skull, lacerations to his head, and puncture wounds.
“Police were told a group of people stole cash from the man.

“Following extensive inquiries, shortly before midday yesterday (Monday 22 June 2026), detectives executed a search warrant at a unit on Anne Street, South Tamworth, where they seized nail strips for a nail gun and electronic devices.
“As police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, they are urging anyone with information – or CCTV/dashcam or mobile phone footage that relates – to contact Tamworth Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
