Spain secured a dominant 4-0 victory over Saudi Arabia in Atlanta, successfully getting their World Cup campaign back on track after an initial goalless draw against Cape Verde.
The European champions quickly asserted their dominance, scoring three goals within the opening 24 minutes of the match to take a commanding lead in Group H.
Lamine Yamal, the 18-year-old Barcelona star, marked his first World Cup start by scoring the opening goal, which was swiftly followed by a quickfire double from Mikel Oyarzabal.
Saudi Arabia‘s difficulties were further compounded in the second half when Hassan Al Tambakti scored an unfortunate own goal, extending Spain‘s lead to four.
Despite a late goal from Ferran Torres being disallowed for offside after a lengthy VAR review, Spain comfortably saw out the rest of the game.
