Manchester United are busy working on signing and retaining players as the World Cup continues. A number of Red Devils stars are across in the United States, Canada and Mexico representing their countries.

Michael Carrick will welcome back his players not competing at the World Cup in due time and is busy organising his transfer wishlist for the Old Trafford hierarchy. One United star was on the scoresheet for England on Wednesday as the returning Marcus Rashford sealed a 4-2 win against Croatia with a well-worked team move.

Questions still surround the academy graduate’s future with Barcelona reportedly still keen on a loan move and other clubs in pursuit. Meanwhile, one of Croatia’s goal scorers has appeared on United’s radar ahead of the return of the Premier League.

Rio Ferdinand has urged United to reconsider getting rid of Rashford following his heroics for Barcelona and England this year. The winger secured the La Liga title and the Spanish Super Cup with Barca and bagged a goal off the bench in his country’s opening World Cup game.

Reports claim that the club have placed a £40million valuation on the 28-year-old, with a number of Premier League clubs interested. However, Ferdinand is adamant that it is time for both the club and the player to put their issues behind them and look ahead.

Discussing the winger on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand Presents, the ex-United defender said: “Do you know what, Manchester United might have to start re-evaluating Marcus Rashford’s situation. I’m happy to change, I’m happy to change.

“I’m not wrong and strong, that’s not my game. I’m happy to change. It seems like Marcus Rashford has matured, the time away from the club may have done him the good he needed and maybe it’s cleansed both parties.

“Is it time? Is it time to shake hands and for him to say, ‘I’m back.'”

Martin Baturina has reportedly caught the eye following his stunning strike against England on Wednesday night. The 23-year-old nabbed the first of two Croatia equalisers before Jude Bellingham and Rashford sealed the win for the Three Lions.

Sky Italia reports the Red Devils are one of several clubs in England keen on Baturina, a hunt which also includes Leeds United and Aston Villa. Bayern have also made enquiries regarding the attacking midfielder.

However, Como are not planning to sell Baturina cheaply after already turning down a £43m offer for the Croatia international. Baturina signed for the Serie A side last summer from Dinamo Zagreb and is barely 12 months into his five-year deal.
