Ditch the “Dad” mug this year in favour of one that won’t get old after Father’s Day. This weighty porcelain number has become my go-to thanks to its thick sides, which keep contents warmer for longer, and a hand-painted finish that elevates any caffeine hit.
Chimac sriracha caramel sauce, 350ml
You’ll have to travel to Dublin to taste Chimac’s Korean-Irish food, but its award-winning sauces are available this side of the Irish Sea. Its kimchi ketchup is an essential addition to everything from stir-fries to scrambled eggs, but its sriracha caramel is the star of the show – sweet, spicy and extremely moreish, it’s the ideal marinade (or I just slather it on tofu, chicken and sweet potato fries).
Victorinox chef knife
Swiss army knife specialists Victorinox also craft chef-recommended knives, and this 15cm blade is a dependable do-it-all. Small enough to complete more delicate tasks such as peeling and scoring, it’s also easy to maintain and clean courtesy of a synthetic handle that won’t rot like wood.

Hario cold brew brewer
This Hario brewer makes barista-quality cold brew coffee super straightforward – simply fill the filter with ground coffee, pour over 700ml of cold water and stick it in the fridge overnight. In the morning, he’ll wake to chilled perfection (and, almost as importantly, minimal mess with all the coffee grounds contained in the filter).
