Park ranger dies after falling in crevasse during climbing patrol on Mount McKinley

- Seasonal park ranger Robin Pendery died after falling into a crevasse on Mount McKinley, North America‘s tallest mountain.
- Pendery, a mountaineering ranger for Denali National Park and Preserve, fell on Thursday during a climbing patrol near the 14,000-foot camp.
- Despite immediate rescue efforts, she did not survive the incident, which is currently under investigation.
- This tragedy occurred just one week after three climbers from a Latvian expedition also died on Mount McKinley after falling near a treacherous pass.
- Pendery was an experienced professional, having worked as a mountain guide, ski patroller, avalanche forecaster, and an emergency department nurse.
