A pedestrian is in a “serious” condition in hospital after she was hit by a car near a church in Fife. The incident happened around 4.10pm on Friday, June 5, in Torryburn village near Dunfermline on the B9037 Main Street.
The 55-year-old woman was taken to hospital, where her condition is described as serious, after being hit by a blue Suzuki Vitara. Police Scotland say they are still trying to trace the occupants of the car.
Pictures shared on social media from the scene show the front of the blue Suzuki Vitara completely crushed by the impact. It has stopped at the entrance of Torryburn Parish Church next to where a red Land Rover type car is parked.
However, there doesn’t appear to be any damage to the Land Rover. Sergeant Lee Walkingshaw said: “We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash, who has not yet spoken to officers, to contact us.
“We’d also ask anyone with dash-cam footage which could assist our enquiries to come forward.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 2398 of 5 June, 2026.
