Six additional people have been charged with violent disorder in Southampton, bringing the total number of people charged following recent unrest to 11.
The charges stem from protests that erupted after the sentencing of Vickrum Digwa for the murder of 18-year-old Henry Nowak.
Public anger was fuelled by the release of police body-worn video showing Mr Nowak being handcuffed and subsequently dying after stating he could not breathe.
The newly charged individuals include Kevin Reeves, Andrew Riddett, Harry Varney, Taylor Grundy, Dillon Crawford, and Andrew Summerhayes, with Summerhayes also facing two counts of possessing an offensive weapon.
All six are scheduled to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday morning.
